I’m not really sure I see the point of this site since there are already blog sites and social networking mediums out there, minus the annoying collages of images.

Something that I found particular interest in, however, was something said in a presentation at SPEP last week, which was the case of informational dumping on to one’s environment. Although I suppose this should be an already familiar concept to me, I never quite thought of it like it was presented and it’s definitely an interesting topic for further research. Essentially, it’s the idea that one takes information operating at the cognitive level and “dumps” it onto his or her environment, such as in the form of a post-it note. This, according to the presenter, is a form of “seeing mind in action”; by transferring a thought to a piece of paper with the goal of acting as a catalyst for recognition, the individual frees up space for thinking and perpetuates the ever-present situatedness of being-in-the-world.

I’m pretty sure Dumbledore got the jump on this already, but hey, who’s keeping track?

Anyway, let’s give this a try and see if it can function as my very own dumping station (of information, that is).
